From December 13 to 15, come and discover the Chimay Christmas Market , in a magical setting that is not lacking in charm! The chalets will be spread around the Grand Place and in the courtyard of the Château de Chimay, illuminating the picturesque streets with a festive and warm atmosphere. On the program, around sixty passionate artisans and local producers will offer you unique creations and gourmet delights for all tastes!

New this year: the Christmas Market opens its doors on Friday evening ! Take advantage of it to experience the magic of Christmas all weekend long:

• Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• Saturday: 11am to midnight
• Sunday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Explore nature with guided walks at ESEM Park in November!

The ESEM Park offers two free guided walks in November to discover the exceptional nature of the Chimay region. Whether you are a hiking enthusiast, a lover of biodiversity or simply looking for an outdoor getaway, these outings are made for you.

On November 1st , join the village of Olloy (meet at the Place de l'église at 9:30 am) for a guided walk to the Fond de Noye and the Carrière des Nutons . This forest valley and its old quarries are full of biodiversity. This three-hour excursion will immerse you in a fascinating natural environment.

On November 2nd , meet at Monceau Imbrechies (meet at 9:30 am on the Place de l'église) , to explore this little-known natural treasure. Guided by Odile, a local expert, you will discover all the secrets of the biodiversity of this village, nestled in a peaceful environment. The outing ends at 12:30 pm.

These activities are free and open to all, so don't hesitate to participate!

On September 6, the ESEM Park invites you to a free ethnobotanical walk in the Bois de Blaimont, an exciting activity to explore the edible and medicinal plants of our region.

Event details:

• Meeting place : Aquascope de Virelles
• Time : 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Cost : Free
• Organization : Guided by Émilie Hennot, you will discover the secrets of local plants, learn to identify them and know their virtues. The walk will end with a preparation and a friendly tasting.

This is the perfect opportunity to enrich your knowledge of the local flora while enjoying the magnificent landscapes of the ESEM natural park.

Discover our favorite bike loop from Chimay! 🚴‍♂️🌟

Cycling friends, we have a special recommendation for you! From La Demoiselle Ô Bois , you can easily join a superb 46.4 km loop edited by Visit Wallonia . This route starts in Chimay and takes you through the magnificent landscapes of Thiérarche. 🌳🚲

From our gîte, you can access this circuit by going to the old Chimay station or by joining the loop which passes through the village of Seloignes (via the Ravel- Route de Monceau, at the level of the old station, n°179).

The journey takes you through forests and along scenic roads from Chimay to Momignies , with stunning views at every turn. You'll return to Chimay via Villers-la-Tour , where you can admire typical farmhouses and beautiful wooden barn doors. 🚴‍♀️💚

• Departure: Old Chimay station - Place des Princes, 6460 Chimay (or by starting your loop from Seloignes)

👣 On 08/15, take advantage of the walk organized in Lompret to discover the sundial of the viaduct and the most picturesque tourist trails of one of the most beautiful villages in Belgium.
The hike requires good boots, as some (optional) passages can be quite steep.

📍Meet in front of the Eau Blanche restaurant, Lompret, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

08/19 Discover the woods of Froidchapelle, for an animal tracking session, with a specialized guide (learn to distinguish the footprints of the game populating our woods and come admire the diversity of wild life)

🥾 On 08/20, embark on a 12 km hike in the majestic Ardennes forest which dominates Vierves-sur-Viroin.

✨ 08/31: Commented observation of the night sky in Momignies - your head in the stars! Equipped with telescopes and observation glasses, explore the splendors of the cosmos that light up the night.
